And I know there's no Army base in South Dakota, but I figured that if they can make up one for the show, I can make up one for my fic.

And now, Gabriel's little philosophical special feature insights are basically recaps of the Witchblade powers revealed in certain episodes, and they're shot like he's making a home video and intercut with actual clips from the episode. However, I highly doubt he would put in notes onto the episode clips to remember what he's supposed to say, and then fail to say it. *snicker*

Once upon a time there was a little show called Dangerous Curves, that had two really pretty ladies named Gina and Holly. Holly was played by the subsequently famous, and gorgeous - OMG the hair, Michael Michele. Gina was played by a lady by the name of Lise Cutter, who has since proceeded to drop off the face of the earth. Holly was the gorgeous one, but Gina was my favourite, spunky and redheaded, with a shady past and a thick accent. And tonight she showed up on Remington Steele! I knew she'd guest starred, because I'd seen it on her IMDb, but I hadn't thought about it in a long time, and then suddenly, there she was! She's so pretty... I gotta go dig up those ancient VHS tapes I have of Dangerous Curves. (Or even scarier, re-read that ancient fic I wrote... eek.)

Unidentified triathlon worker: "Where are the H's... out of order of course. Ah, Holt, here we are, have a good race!"

The danger of writing for a fandom where most of the fic sucks is that you get caught in their stupidity. All these things that I cringe at and rant about when I read, I find myself writing, because it somehow fits the vocabulary and style I have come to associate with fandom. Like somehow everything else being crap justifies me not even trying to write something I can stand for instead of something that passes for ok because it's no worse than everything else. Blerg.

What's the deal with Dreamwidth? There are a lot of fancy words on their website, but nothing that actually explains to me why it would be better than LJ (except exclusiveness, I guess). Should I be actively working to acquire a code because everyone will leave me? But I like LJ! Please explain it to me?

Current new wallpaper. I'm torn. I wanted to make a new one, but I couldn't decide which character I wanted. And it's not like I'm a big thematic wallpaper-maker, I'm more of the 'cram as many of my favourite pics into it as possible'. But I try to stay in one fandom at a time. Also, how sad is it that I had to enlarge the picture of Laura to fill half the screen, and it's one of the biggest ones I have. Why aren't there any high-res color images from the 80s?

Mariska Hargitay has hi-jacked my brain. And I've been meaning to blog about that (and many many other things) for the past week or so, but I seem to be spending every free moment (not that there have been that many of those) watching SVU or reading Olivia fanfic (or talking at people on IM about Mariska). I don't think she'll become a full-blown obsession (I swear I don't, but I've been wrong before), but I'm very fond of the crushing process, and I need something to occupy my mind with while I wait for Defying Gravity and the 3Way DVDs... erg.

Things that have pleased me:
Mariska Hargitay and Kim Delaney having scenes together. Darn their characters for being so damn unshipable, because they totally have chemistry.
Emo fanfic.

Things that have not pleased me:
I'd forgotten how pleasant it really is to have an obsession where I'm not tense and wincing all the time from awkwardness. Not that that has ever stopped me before, but Christina has spoiled me this last year. Come back, Christina!
